I have used Citadel twice to install exterior door handles and deadbolts at two homes. (Note: the handles/locks Citadel installs are more sturdy/robust/secure than those sold through big box stores.) Both installations went off without issue and each took roughly half a day for three handles and dead bolts. After the second install I had an issue with one of the door handles.
The handle wouldn't stay tight against the door. I'm not sure how Citadel could have caught this potential issue because the handle worked initially-over time it tends to come loose. Regardless, the annoyance of a loose handle became an issue and insecure so after explaining the problem a Citadel technician was on-site within 12 hrs. Within 30 mins the technician (apologies for not getting the tech's name) had clearly explained the problem and the fix that was required.
No more spinning handle. And, saved me from having to replace the whole door. I have every confidence that the hard-earned money I spend with Citadel is well worth the product and service they provide. Will use again, no doubt.

We needed our security door fixed, it wasn't closing and opening with the fobs anymore. The original company was MIA. Citadel David and Mike were great to work with. David came to inspect our situation and Mike did the fix. All quickly and efficiently we couldn't have asked for more. I would recommend Citadel to friends and family for a job well done.

This business owner is engaging in telling his customers lies in order to charge them more. I work next to this business and was locked out. they came and opened the door for me. Then charged me $160+ for less than a 2 minute ask. Now he said he called in Tech from another location to do that. I was outside the whole time and this "tech" was still at the locksmith.
He walked out back door to his turned off work truck with fogged up windows. Grabbed a tool and then popped my works door open. This took less than two minutes to do. I asked to not be charged a service fee and thats when the owner said that he called a tech in from another location. I told him how I was outside and saw no one drive up and that his tech never left or arrived in his truck since the windows were all fogged up.
This is where his story changed. He then said he had to reasign that tech from another job to this one before he left. Not call him back from the field as he first stated. I told him to sign the receipt as paid as I gave him money and walked away. I do not have time to deal with someone who is willing to lie to my face to get there way. I will however go out of my way to report him in any way shape or form so that others do not have to deal with this vile form of business practice that this member is associating with your standards. State of NC Locksmith License #0320 I will be sending this message to the NCLA. BBB. EEOCNC. VA(Im a vet). SBA. ALOA.

I cannot say enough about the team at Citadel. They were accommodating with their schedule, quick to arrive, and efficient in unlocking my door when I accidentally locked myself out of my home. They are much appreciated and if I ever need locksmith services again (fingers crossed that I won't), I would definitely use them again.

I locked myself out of my home and called Citadel in a panic. although I got an answering machine I did leave a voicemail and within five minutes had a return call from David, the owner of the company. He was very professional and sympathetic to my position and told me he would be here within 30 minutes of my call. He arrived as promised and it could've even been less than 30 minutes!
I would highly recommend Citadel Lock & Security! David recommended a deadbolt which needs a key to be locked which would replace my regular door handle lock. I will be telling my family and friends about Citedal should they ever have any lock/security needs in the future. It is rare these days to find a company that is so responsive, professional and sensibly priced.

Horrible customer service. I drove 20 miles round trip to get a copy of a key made. The blank is not one they carry at the home improvement stores which is why I went to a locksmith, expecting they would know what they are doing. I paid for my two copies and drove home, only to discover that the locksmith had made my keys from the wrong blank, they would not fit in the lock cylinder, and they were useless.
The next day I returned to the locksmith (another 20 mile round trip) and pointed out the obvious difference in the blank. Rather than apologize, they blamed the key I gave them, saying something like it had a Quickset head but was a Yale blank, so the person who made my keys naturally assumed it was the wrong blank. They then cut two more keys, but they were also the wrong blank - in fact my key would not fit into the cylinder that the new key blanks they used did.
So they told me these keys would probably not work either, but they didn't have the right blank for my key. They offered to refund my money, and I said okay. At this point, after at least one wasted 20 mile trip due to their incompetence, I suggested that they give me the keys they made anyway for free, since they were only going to throw them away and they told me they MIGHT work.
They said no, they were going to get money back for the bad blanks and pointed to a (surprisingly large) bin of wasted brass key blanks. I suppose a few grams of brass might be worth 5 or 10 cents, meaning they had so little regard for my wasted time, gas, nor their own customer goodwill, that they wouldn't even spend sacrifice the scrap value of two key blanks to redeem themselves.
As if this all wasn't bad enough, during my first visit, the young employee actually mocked me for having an old-fashioned leather key case. If there is another locksmith in town, I suggest you call them, not these guys.

From the very beginning with Leslie giving me"spot on"directions to the location everything was wonderful. Dave had my keys made before I even signed anything! The whole experience was wonderful! Great people, nice clean office and very professional, efficient service. I will go back with future needs and will definitely recommend this facility. PS this is not Dave or Leslie's mother!

Today we came home only to find the spring on our garage door had broken and we had no keys to enter the door. We called Citadel Lock at 3:30 PM and they close at 4:00 PM. The receptionist was very polite and informed us that someone would be out to assist us within a half hour. At 3:50 PM David was at our house opening our locks. He was very courteous and professional. Thanks Citadel for your prompt attention in our time of need. We highly recommend Citadel Lock any time you have lock issues and need a professional locksmith.

David from Citadel Lock and Security Company has helped our family twice. He came quickly, efficiently got us into our home, and was very professional. I have recommended Citadel Lock and Security Company to our entire subdivision, via our FB businesses and services page. Certainly hope we don't have a need for a locksmith again, but I have Citadel on my phone, and am grateful to know who I'll be calling if the need arises!

It is possible that I may be a bit critical but the reasons for two stars are: The Good: 1) Friendly person on the phone with both conversations. 2) Location The Bad: 1) They are more strict than the post office about closing/being finished promply at 4:30 pm. So if there is ANY anticipation that a job will run past 4:30 pm, they will not schedule an appointment.
The receptionist mentioned at least twice during our 3 minute conversation that a job extending beyond 4:30 pm would make the rates DOUBLE. 2) $75 trip charge -- to me this seems high; making house calls for a locksmith is (fortunately) not something I do frequently so this could be the norm 3) $20 per keyhole for re-key (most other places charge $15)
