In 1942, Archie and Mary Lodge opened the Wenatchee Cycle Shop, selling and repairing bicycles. In 1948, looking for additional business in the slow times, Archie purchased a key machine for cutting keys and installed a small 4' x 8' booth in the back of Wenatchee Cycle. He nicknamed the booth "the keyhole."
